Doncha Put It in Your Mouth
LMAO. OH MY GOD. Remember this fuckin' twisted Public Service Announcement with the scary ass blue puppets telling kids not to drink Lysol and shit? Who wouldn't want to poison themselves after watching this blasphemy? Watching it now (and sadly remembering all the words to the song) just makes it sound like a Public Service Announcement against blowjobs. Enjoy the laugh.

Rise Up With Fists! - Jenny Lewis with The Watson Twins
Rise up with fists!
The video for the single Rise Up With Fists by Jenny Lewis and The Watson Twins. Three things I love about this video (aside from loving the song), 1) The always hilarious Sarah Silverman is featured in it. 2) The overall Yee-Haw recreation premise, and 3) When they all wink for the camera. Jenny Rocks.

Aladdin Jr. In Niagara

Since the summer holiday season is still upon us for a few more weeks, many family's will be hustling about trying to find ways to spend their last moments of freedom before the kids have to go back to school and fall slowly creeps up on us. Might I suggest that if you are (or you are going to be) in the Niagara Falls region, you go catch a matinee or evening showing of Aladdin Jr. at The Greg Frewin Theatre. The kids will have a blast seeing one of their favorite Disney films coming to life on stage, and the parents will love the three drink minimum (ba-dum-bum). The cast is energetic, witty, and mesmerizing, featuring Rob Torr as the Genie (The parents will get a kick out of this fast talking, impersonation spitting, scene stealing bundle of blue hilarity), Aaron Kyte (a friend and teacher of mine) as the man himself "Big Al", and the gorgeous Ashley Taylor as every little girls favorite Princess, Jasmine (she's not a loser like Cinderella).

Pictured above: Aaron Kyte (Aladdin) & Rob Torr (The Genie)
The songs you love (A Whole New World, Friend Like Me, etc.), the story you know, a great day of theatre, plus the kids will get to meet their favorite characters after the show. Running now through to September 4th, you can find ticket information at www.gregfrewintheatre.com .
Gay And N'Sync

Okay, I don't mean to beat this horse to death, God knows everyone is sick and tired of hearing about it, but I swear to Mary, who the hell was surprised that Lance Bass was gay? I mean just look at him, he looks like he'd suck a dick for a Diet Coke. Next you're going to "surprise me" by telling me that that kid who plays Harry Potter is gay (don't you dare act shocked when it ends up being true).

Nobody was surprised by this news, nobody cared so much about this news. Before this story broke when was the last time you even heard the name Lance Bass? The only real thing we care about and want to know is, what's it like to be "N'Sync" with Reichen Lehmkuhl (pictured above). How did that happen? Nice one Lance. You're my hero now.
Word has it that Lance and bandmate Joey Fatone are working on a television project that they hope will come to pass, a sort of modern day Odd Couple, with Lance playing an out and proud young man, and Joey as his token straight friend (these are rumors though). Anyway, welcome to the club Mr. Bass, you're toaster oven is in the mail.
Ghost Stories

I am eagerly awaiting the release of the new Chantal Kreviazuk album "Ghost Stories". The track listing for the album (being released September 5th) is as follows...
1. Ghosts Of You
2. All I Can Do (great first single, and awesome video)
3. You Blame Yourself
4. Spoken In Tongues
5. So Cold
6. Waiting For The Sun
7. Grow Up So Fast
8. Wonderful
9. Asylum (which has been told to me is about her nanny...why not?)
10. Wendy House
11. Mad About You

You can listen to clips of the album at www.chantalkreviazuk.com . It sounds deliciously different from her previous work. She's using her voice in some strange new ways, I can't wait to hear it in concert. She has once again shared her writing and producing credits with her husband (Our Lady Peace Frontman) Raine Maida, and will be touring all across Canada upon the albums release. Scheduled Tour dates can also be found on her website. See if she is coming to a theatre or club near you, and go check her out. She is amazing live. Trust me, I've seen her four times.
Jordan Knight Album Cover

Here is the cover of Jordan Knight's upcoming album which features Say Goodbye, his duet with Deborah Gibson, clearly I won't be buying it (I already have the one song that I'll like from it) but just in case any visitors care for him and want said information...there you have it. He really doesn't photograph well, poor thing.

Jordan Teams Up With Deborah

The 80's are back it seems. Jordan Knight (formerly of NKOTB) has teamed up with Deborah (Debbie) Gibson (one of my personal favorites) for the start off single for his new album "Love Songs" to be released August 29th. The song entitled "Say Goodbye" has already been doing quite well on Billboard, currently #35 on the Adult Contemporary chart. This marks the first time Deborah has been on the Billboard charts since February 1993 when her song "Losin' Myself" from the album Body, Mind, Soul hit #49. Though she hasn't enjoyed Pop music success in over a decade, Deborah has been a busy girl with her theatre career, recently appearing in the premiere of a new musical entitled St. Heaven, as well as posing for Playboy Magazine (much like her 80's counter-part Tiffany), releasing Colored Lights (her Broadway music album), and currently starting a workshop for a new musical which she has co-written with Jimmy Van Patten called "The Flunky".

Enough about that though, back to the song. The simple yet beautiful Pop ballad has become the third most added song to AC radio, and the two will be performing on Good Morning America this coming Tuesday August 22nd. Check Local Listings. You can download the song off i-tunes now, or if you know me just ask and I'll send.
PS. clicking that little play icon on the first picture won't do anything. It's the only picture I could find of the two of them together lol.
PPS. All the reviews I've read regarding this song have pretty much mentioned how happy people are that Deborah is back, it's not even her song. Oh well, sorry Jordan. You've been usurped.

The Showgirl Returns

I'm sitting here with Kylie Minogue's Showgirl Tour DVD blaring in the background, wondering what I'm going to write my first official blog about, and it hits me...Duh, write about Kylie's triumphant return to the stage. After a year of treatment since being diagnosed with breast cancer last May, the Impossible (to defeat apparently) Princess is heading back out to wrap up the Australian leg of her tour. It promises to be quite an emotional home-coming for Kylie who received most of her treatment in Paris while staying with her (very handsome) beau Olivier Martinez. The shows will start in her hometown of Sydney on November 11th, wrap up in Melbourne on December 17th, and then it's off to the UK to do a six night engagement at Wembley Stadium in January 2007 (of which the first two nights announced sold out in an astounding six minutes).

Kylie is by far one of the most (seemingly) genuine stars in the public eye today. Always beautiful, upbeat, positive, sparkly eyed and ready to give to her audience. She (and her music) just make you want to have a good time. Someday she will bring one of her tours to Canada and I will be a happy boy. Until then, Welcome Back Showgirl! I missed you.
The Obligatory Introduction

Hello Lovers and Many other Strangers
Welcome to this space. I have no idea what I will use it for, but just that I have it to use is enough. Music reviews, movie reviews, book reviews (yes I can read for those of you who know me...cheeky buggers), concert reviews....hmm...I guess I will use it to review stuff, and list any other subsequent information that I find entertaining or noteworthy. Just take it as it comes.
