The film version of John Waters stage hit "Hairspray", due out July 2007 will contain the following cast.
Michelle Pfieffer to play Velma Von Tussle
John Travolta as "Edna Turnblad" (can't wait to see that), Christopher Walken as "Wilbur Turnblad", Queen Latifah as "Motormouth Maybelle", Michelle Pfeiffer as "Velma Von Tussle", Brittany Snow as "Amber Von Tussle", Zac Efron as "Link Larkin", Elijah Kelley as "Seaweed", Amanda Bynes as "Penny Pingleton", Alison Janney as "Purdy Pingleton", James Marsden as "Corny Collins", and newcomer Nikki Blonksy as "Tracy Turnblad".

Sounds like an amazing cast. Filming begins in Toronto this month. Marc Shaiman will contribute new songs to his Tony Award winning score for the film. Yeah!
