Darling Print Ad

My heavens, Kylie Minogue is looking gorgeous in the new print ad for her fragrance, Darling. The fragrance reportedly achieved record sales in it's first day of availability in her native Australia, having the most successful launch of a fragrance at Myers Department Store (Australia's largest retailer).

In other news, Channel 4 in the UK will be broadcasting Kylie's Showgirl Homecoming Tour in early 2007 (so let's cross our fingers for a new concert DVD to add to our collections on this side of the pond). The new layout for the show includes most of the original set list with a few new elements IE. adding the song Burning Up from her Fever album with a slight Madonna tribute thrown into the mix of it (the spoken word section of Vogue), and her newest song White Diamond, which will hopefully be included on the new album.

Finally, her 2007 calendar is the biggest selling calendar from a female artist so far in the UK. This is the fifth year in a row that Kylie has topped the calendar sales charts.

Cutest Kid Ever!

Madonna shared the following photo of her new adopted son, David Banda with her husband Guy at the taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show yesterday. The episode (which airs this afternoon), features Madonna live Via-satellite from London for a half hour of the show, clearing up rumours and misconceptions about the adoption.

Is that not the cutest picture you've ever seen?

Madonna On Oprah

Hey Kids! Don't forget to watch or set your vcr/TiVo to record Madonna on Oprah this Wednesday October 25th. She will be discussing the adoption of baby David, and will probably promote the English Roses sequel. Can't wait!

Happy Viewing!

Update: Half of the the show will be intended for Madonna, and the other half will be a featured interview with The Dixie Chicks about their documentary "Shut Up And Sing". I'd be happier if Oprah did a full hour with each of them, but....what can you do?

NBC Doesn't Live To Tell!

I could not be more upset. NBC has decided not to show Madonna mounted on the mirrored cross donning a crown of thorns during the Live To Tell portion of the Confession's Tour telecast on November 20th. Christian groups in America threatened to boycott one of the major sponsors of the telecast, and so NBC has decided that they will not cut the song from the showing but just edit it so you can only see her from certain angles not including the cross or the crown.

Why bother? We know it's there. It's not blasphemous, and if Christians have a problem with it then hey, here's a thought, don't fuckin' watch it. I'd rather they just cut the song altogether, because that is bullshit.

And as far as the Madonna adoption goes, I find it hysterical that.....

1) it was splashed all over the front page of the Toronto Star newspaper

2) it has been deemed a global controversy

3) People seem to have a problem with the star adopting a one year old from Malawi

Let's break it down shall we? She adopted an orphaned boy from an extremely disadvantaged background and has moved him to live in luxury with her and her loving family. God, the members of the media and of the Malawian adoption services are right, she's a horrible horrible person. The fact that moving the boy so early from his village might be illegal, is ridiculous to me. There is no doubt that Madonna can provide a good life for the kid (Hello!?!), and there are worse crimes to commit, don't you think?

Madonna - Jump

Madonna Jump full Video!!

The video for Madonna's new single "Jump". Basically Madonna's very acrobatic dancers jumping all around Tokyo, while Mo spends her time on a soundstage on the junglegym type apparatus she had for the song during the Confessions Tour. This is so much better than the Get Together video.

English Roses Sequel

Madonna will once again don her best selling author hat when she releases the long awaited sequel to her first children's book "The English Roses".

The second installment, entitled "The English Roses: Too Good To Be True", once again follows characters Amy, Charlotte, Grace, Nicole, and newest girl to the clique Binah, as they learn valuable lessons about friendship when faced with a group crush on the same boy (God, it's just like real life, isn't it?).

Madonna, mother (as we all know) to gorgeous, smart as a whip Lourdes (9), and good for a laugh, cutie pie Rocco (6), has once again credited her kids as her co-authors. "My daughter insisted that there be a boy in it" she stated in an interview. See what I mean? Smart as a whip!

Look for the book October 1st.

Q Is For Queen Of Pop

Madonna is one of twenty artists to be featured on the November cover of Q Magazine. The UK music magazine which is celebrating it's 20th anniversary with twenty different covers featuring twenty different artists, will have a new interview with whatever cover artist you choose. From Britney to U2, to Jimmy Page or Kate Bush, there will be something for everyone. Clearly this boy will be snatching up the Maddy cover. Cover photo by Steven Klein. They always do such beautiful work together.

Jesus Died For Your Sins

You know what really bugs me these days? Christian groups! I am getting so sick of these people running the world, the government, and my television screen. It has recently been reported that NBC, who is airing the Madonna special The Confessions Tour Live, may be cutting the performance of "Live To Tell" from the concert broadcast, because these Christian groups are offended by the fact Madonna appears splayed out on a mirrored cross while wearing a crown of thorns. I'm sure boycotts will ensue on behalf of the groups if this sight is not stricken from the broadcast in November.

Why do they always seem to get their way? I have a suggestion, why don't those Madonna fans out there vow to boycott NBC if they don't show this portion of the concert. Do you think that would work? It was one of my favorite parts of the show, and I'd be willing to make that commitment.

You can tell my sister she can't have an abortion, but fuck with my Madonna viewing and you've gone too far.

Madonna - American Life Video (Original Version)

American Life (madonna)

The original version of the American Life video. It's much more effective than the one that was released, but I can see why she didn't want to release this at that time. It would have made people mad (Republicans), and she has two kids, so it could have been a messy situation. Anyway, I love this.
