Emma Bunton - All I Need To Know

Look what I found on youtube, the new Emma video. How conveniant. The poor thing, I just read on her website that she actually shot the whole video outside in this satin dress in December. Give her respect, she froze her ass off for her craft. It's such a beautiful ballad, she looks gorgeous, and the angel motif works so nicely.

Baby Is Pregnant

Man, it has been a few weeks since I have written last, but I have just been very busy. Enough excuses, on with the story. Miss Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton has just released an official statement saying that she is pregnant with her first child. The former Spice Girl, who just last year was diagnosed with endometriosis (a condition which makes it difficult to conceive), and her longtime boyfriend Jade Jones, could not be happier with this news.

"We are so happy, it's unbelievable news" the couple said in the statement. "What a great way to start the New Year."

And as for Emma's former nickname?

"I guess I will be handing over the 'Baby' tag now to a deserving little new owner."

In other Emma news, she ended up placing third on the celebrity dance competition show "Strictly Come Dancing" and her cover of the Petula Clark classic "Downtown" recently reached #3 on the UK charts.

Her gorgeous new album "Life In Mono" is available now. The second single will be the albums opening track "All I Need To Know". Congratulations to the happy couple.

Elizabeth Rex

I don't know why I hadn't really thought about doing this before but I feel I should promote the play I am co-starring in which starts January 19th. I have already told everyone I know about it, but on the off chance that someone in the Ontario region (particularly Durham Region) that I don't know, sees this post and decides to come see it, I guess that would be a good thing.

The play is Elizabeth Rex by: Timothy Findley. The story focuses on a group of actors (The Lord Chamberlains Men) and their playwright (William Shakespeare) who have just finished a royal performance of "Much Ado About Nothing" and are confined to the Queen's barn for the night due to a curfew in the streets. The Queen pays the actors a visit, seeking distraction for the evening as her former lover (the Earl of Essex) is set to be executed in the morning. The evening brings anything but distraction. Instead the evening reveals much about the Queen (played beautifully by Judith Edmondson), Will Shakespeare and Ned Lowenscroft (the company's brilliant performer of women's roles), the lives they have lived, and the roles they have chosen.

As I said, performances begin January 19th at the Oshawa Arts Resource Centre. All other information is available on the poster up top. Click to enlarge the picture. (Oh, I play Harry Pearle. Almost forgot, duh!.)

Hairspray Movie Cast

After the spookiness of Danny Pintauro I felt it was time to brighten things up with some new pictures of the cast of the updated Hairspray movie (perhaps one of the most colorful musicals ever). So sit back and enjoy the sights.

Michelle Pfeiffer as Velma Von Tussle (better than Stephanie in Grease 2)

Amanda Bynes and Allison Janney as Penny and Purdy Pingleton (S&M for Mom and Daughter...Scary)

John Travolta as Edna Turnblad and Queen Latifah as Motormouth Maybelle (I'm looking forward to these two performances).

Zac Efron as Link Larkin and Nicole Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad

Centre: Brittany Snow as Amber Von Tussle and James Marsden as Corny Collins.

And although I promised no spookiness in this post...it's pretty much inevitable when you are talking about Christopher Walken. Here he is as Wilbur Turnblad. I'm sorry, so, so sorry.

Who's The Boss Now? (PS. Not really for kids. See how responsible I am)

Remember Danny Pintauro? The kid who played Jonathan Bower (Judith Light's son) on the sitcom Who's the Boss? Of course you do, everybody remembers at least five episodes of that show. Well, as we all know he came out many years ago, but we had no idea that he would one day turn from the picture above (kinda cute, but nothing really special), into the picture below. God, Alyssa Milano turned out better than I thought. Is this what comes of "showering" with Tony Danza when your a sexually confused teenager? That's Awful! Who Said That? Anyway, I know I don't usually post things like this, I just found it too shocking not to. Plus he reminds me of my first boyfriend, a bit older with a crystal meth gaze. No, I would never do that...again.

Mystery Machine Mourns!

All the kids in the world should be sad today (grown ups too) because, Iwao Takamoto, best known as the creator of lovable Hanna-Barbera character Scooby Doo has passed away at the age of 81. Among other accomplishments in his career, he also assisted in the designs of some of the best known, and most beloved animated feature films and television shows of all time including Walt Disney's "Cinderella", "Peter Pan", "Lady And The Tramp" (among others) and Hanna Barbera's "The Flintstones" and "The Jetsons" (for which he created another lovable, yet dimwitted canine, Astro). And for those of you who remember the 1973 animated film version of Charlotte's Web, Takamoto served as the director of that film.

Rest In Peace.

Metropolitan Museum Of Art

My Brother and I spent two mornings at the Met. while we were in the great city of New York, and we only got to see the first floor. My point is, it's fuckin' huge, but it's so beautiful. We would have spent a longer time there but as I said we basically had two shows a day and we had to eat and get to where the theatre was that day. Plus we stayed in Queens while we were there so we first had to travel from Queens to Manhattan to get to the Museum in the first place (it didn't take as long as I thought though). Here are some pictures of our favorite pieces on the first floor. More will be added soon. The little guy below was one of my faves.

Jenny Lewis - Fernando (Live)

Even though Conan states that this song is on Jenny's album "Rabbit Fur Coat", it in fact isn't, and I really enjoy it. Their dancing is adorable, and look at how small Jenny is when Conan comes and stands next to her. Too Cute.

Welcome Back!

Well, here we are again. Another year come and gone, and it's time to see what the future holds for all of us (me specifically). I had a great time in New York. I saw 10 shows in 7 days, it was a bit exhausting but so worth it. I will try and write revues as soon as possible, I just want to get my pictures developed and uploaded before I do so. My brother sent me some of the pictures he took (including the one up top) with his digital camera (I really need to get one of those), so I will be adding those asap. They are awesome pics, I think he missed his calling as a photographer. Happy 2007.
